happy 70th!

Had a great weekend with the entire family to celebrate dad's 70th birthday.
If you ever need to stay in the downtown San Diego area I highly recommend a small boutique hotel called the Hotel Solemar.

Here's a picture in Hotel Solemar's lobby with dad & mom and all the grandchildren:

my son

Has it really been that long since I've posted on xanga? I guess I'm just addicted to facebook now.
I recently bought my wife a new point-and-shoot camera (yes...it was a Nikon....) so I actually have a picture of me and Noah.

White Seamless Paper

Question: What do you do with white seamless paper after you're done using it as a background?

Answer: Cut off the bottom piece and let Noah use it to color on....=)

Looking for discounts?

OK..so you tried Black Friday and Cyber Monday but couldn't find the deal that you wanted. I thought I'd share a couple different places you might look, if you didn't already know:

  1. Live.com - this is Microsoft's search tool which is currently running a "promotion" where they get discounts from online vendors for redirecting you to their site but rather than keeping that discount, they're passing it onto us (the consumer) as a rebate. The rebates range from 5% - 30%. Here's how it works if you don't want to read it on their website:
    • Create an account at http://www.live.com
    • Link your account to your Paypal account
    • Now search for an item at Live.com (e.g. Canon 24-70)
    • In the Sponsored sites section you'll see links with the "Live Search Cashback" icon (many of these are linked to ebay). Click on that link.
    • Select one of the ebay "buy-it-now" items and proceed all the way until right before you actually submit the offer (you'll see how much cash back you're going to get for the item). For the example of the Canon 24-70 you'll get 30% off.
    • You don't get the 30% off right away because it's similar to a mail-in rebate. But instead of filling out forms and adding UPC codes, it's already linked to your Live.com account and you'll receive the money into your Paypal account in 60 days. (to verfiy you can check your Live.com account and it'll show you how much in rebates you should expect).
  2. American Express Wishlist (http://mywishlist.amexnetwork.com) - for those of you with American Express cards this is their yearly wishlist where you can get some pretty cool items are deeply discounted prices. But there are only a limited number of items and you have to be fast on the draw to to get any of them.

Drummer Boy

Every Sunday after church service Noah heads over to the drum set and bangs away. We've bought him a drum here and there but to him nothing beats the full set (little does he know that his aunt bought him a full set for Christmas already). It's going to be one loud house on Christmas Day!
